This is obviously a very difficult question and one with multiple inadequate answers offered by politicians on both sides of the aisle. While I certainly do not have the answer, I've found a good resource for understanding multiple perspectives. If you've not heard Jim Lehrer's six-part series on the subject I recommend it. You can add it to you Podcasts in iTunes (or Yahoo!) and listen to it on your PC or MP3 player.
